Treat the kids to a bicycle ride on the NASCAR track!

 Select from the following Distances:

10 mile Family Ride to the Speedway & Back or enjoy the following longer distances:

 20, 40, 56, 70 and 100 mile distances 

(Distances are approximate and are subject to change due to construction)

Course Description

Depart Joliet’s Historic Rialto Theatre Marquis. Ride southeast Will County using low volume roads & bike paths. Refreshments & toilet facilities are available at Rest stops. Routes are clearly identified using pavement markings. Riders will receive a cue sheet and map at registration. S.A.G. Vehicles will patrol the routes until 4pm if you require assistance.

Driving Directions

The Registration desk will be located under the Rialto Theatre Marquis. The Rialto Theatre is located at 102 North Chicago Street approximately 1.5 miles north of I-80. From I-80, take IL53 North to the downtown area. Van Buren Street runs south of the Rialto, Clinton Street runs north of the Rialto. Parking

Four lots are located within 2 blocks of registration. The Will Cty Courthouse lot located on Chicago St., the Joliet Commuter lot off of Chicago St. & the parking garages on Ottawa St & Scott St. The Joliet’s City Center map at www.jolietdowntown.com identifies parking locations. NO parking at the Library.

Rider Safety & Conduct

The safety of ride participants is of primary importance. Routes are on public roads and must be shared with motor vehicles. We believe cyclists deserve to share the road, showing courtesy to motorists and other cyclists. The Joliet Bicycle Club strongly recommends wearing approved bicycle helmets. All bicyclists are expected to obey the Illinois Rules of the Road as they apply to cyclists. The Joliet Bicycle Club and Event Organizers support and encourage the efforts and actions of law enforcement agencies.

Ride Departure Time


In order to complete your ride while the rest stops and S.A.G. vehicles are available. The JBC recommends the following departure times:

70 and 100 miles                   Depart: 7-8:30 AM

10, 20, 40 and 56 miles         Depart: 7-11 AM

All riders must plan to be off the route by 4 PM

Tee Shirts

Each PRE-REGISTERED rider will receive a complimentary cotton blend Tee shirt sporting the “Joliet Sudden Century” graphic. Riders who register on the morning of the ride may purchase an event Tee shirt for $10 while sizes and supplies last.

 Soup and chili after the ride

Finish the ride & stop by the Chicago Street Pub at 75 North Chicago St. (just south of the registration area) for complimentary soup or chili. Availability ends at 4 pm.   

Registration Information

Check-in begins at 7am and ends at 11am.

Pre-Registration fees must be received on or before April 27th:

10 Mile Family Ride Only: $20.00 for 1st 3 riders plus $5.00 for each additional family member.

All other distances: $15.00 per person

(Children 12 & under $5.00)

 After April 27th & Day-of Registration fee:

10 Mile Family Ride Only: $25.00 for 1st 3 riders plus $5.00 for each additional family member.

All other distances: $20.00 per person

(Children 12 & under $5.00)

One registration form per adult rider. Registration forms may be photocopied.
